Q.- What should I do if get injured at work? A.- As soon as you can, you must tell your supervisor (employer) you have been injured at work. Then go to a medical provider authorized by your employer. Give your doctor as many details about your accident as possible. Follow your doctor's instructions. Ask your doctor when you may return to work. Let your employer know how you are doing. Under certain circumstances, you may be required to take a drug test.
Q. - Can my employer fire me for filing a worker's compensation claim for benefits? A.- Under Florida Law an employer may not fire an employee who files for worker's compensation benefits.
Q.- Who are mediators? A.- The Mediators are volunteers (lawyers and non-lawyers) certified by The Florida Bar, who possess the education, training, or certification in alternative dispute resolution.

Q.- Where does the mediation takes place and who has to attend?
A.-
The
mediation takes place in the office of the mediator or other location
agreeable to the participants. The insured party, his attorney, the
insurance adjuster and his attorney and the mediator should be present. However, those
persons may bring a lawyer if approved by the parties and agreed to by
the mediator. Q.- What is the role of the mediator? A.- The role of the mediator is to reduce obstacles to communication, assist in the identification of issues and exploration of alternatives, and otherwise facilitate voluntary agreements resolving the dispute. The ultimate decision-making authority, however, rests solely with the parties.
A.- Personal injury is the name given to the branch of tort law that covers any wrong or damage done to another in his person, property, rights, or reputation. A personal injury can happen at work, in a traffic accident. The personal injury can be physical or psychological but, to be considered actionable, it must occur due to the negligence or unreasonably unsafe actions of your employer, a manufacturer, your doctor, your landlord, or some other person or organization who owes you a duty of ordinary care.
