B. Lee Elam is a resident of Brandon since 1965.  Mr. Elam earned his bachelors Degree at Florida State University in 1961. He served in the Peace Corps as a volunteer in Colombia from 1962 to 1964. 

In 1970, he received his Law degree from St. Petersburg's Stetson University and was admitted to the Florida Bar that year.  Elam is a member of the Brandon Rotary Club, the first president of the American Cancer Society, Brandon Chapter, where he has served as president several times. He served as trustee of Hillsborough Community College.

For several years, Elam also served as Director of the Brandon Area Scholarship Fund and he was the first volunteer attorney for the Brandon Chamber of Commerce.  He is also a patron member of the Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Association since 1985; a trustee of the Brandon Regional Hospital from 1995 to 1996.

Chairman of the Brandon Bar Association for two years.  He had two terms as Chairman in the Hillsborough Bar Association Worker's Compensation Section.

Mr. Elam does considerable pro-bono work, incorporated the Brandon Area Youth Soccer League, The Greater Tampa Youth Soccer League and various local churches.  He volunteers his professional time in the Good Samaritan and the Beth-El Mission in Wimauma. His pro-bono work is mainly geared towards migrant workers.

B. Lee Elam lives in Brandon with his wife Patricia, his bookkeeper and Office manager for 25 years.

His office sign has become a community landmark where he posts community service messages. 200,000 plus vehicles pass by his office daily.
